Hi, I’m Blake

I design, build, film, and explore.

Most of my projects start the same way — with curiosity. A new idea, a new technique, or a problem I want to solve. Sometimes that turns into a piece of furniture, sometimes a custom tool, and sometimes an entire overland truck system built for adventure.

I started woodworking in 2006 in a very unconventional shop: an old horse stable on my grandparents’ property (no joke). At the time I worked at a fantastic used tool store, and many of the tools I restored there eventually made their way into my shop. I devoured every woodworking book and magazine I could find and started building small projects like boxes before slowly working my way toward more complex furniture.

Back then I imagined that someday I’d have a huge “dream shop.”

In 2013 my wife and I bought our first home with a one-car garage. It wasn’t the massive shop I had imagined — but instead of waiting for the perfect space, I decided to build my dream shop anyway.

That small garage eventually became the home of the Weber Woodshop YouTube channel.

Working in a limited space forces creativity. Every tool, every workflow, and every square inch has to earn its place. That constraint has shaped the way I design and build projects — focusing on efficiency, thoughtful design, and making the most out of what you have.

Over time the projects expanded beyond the walls of the shop. What started as woodworking evolved into designing gear, building systems for adventure, experimenting with new tools and materials, and documenting the entire process through filmmaking and photography.

My career as a professional firefighter has taught me to value the time we have and the things we create. Building things with my hands has become both a creative outlet and a way to slow down, focus, and solve problems one step at a time.

Today I share these projects through my videos, plans, and resources so others can build their own versions, adapt the ideas, and push them even further.

Design it. Craft it. Film it. Explore it.

MAKE IT. WORTH IT.
