<image:title>Glowforge $500 Discount Coupon Code - Can Glowforge Cut wood? Yes, Glowforge Pro can cut 1/4” plywood & wood veneer for marquetry.</image:title>
<image:caption>In fact, this is the main reason why I wanted in a Glowforge laser cutter in the first place. The marquetry for my “Sunrise Hall Table” (More Info HERE) was cut entirely on my Glowforge Pro. Glowforge is know for doing engravings on all kinds of materials from wood to leather to plastic. But I hadn’t seen very many examples of woodworkers using it to cut wood. I’ve got the Pro model, which I recommend if you are planning on using it for woodworking. The Glowforge Pro has a 45W laser, and cuts up to 3 times faster than the Basic model. It can cut plywood up to 1/4” thick, and slices through thin wood veneer like butter. One of the main uses I have for cutting plywood is for templates. I can design complex curves in a program like Adobe Illustrator or Sketchup, and then use my Glowforge to cut precision templates for shaping larger pieces of wood on my router table. Whenever I need plywood thicker than 1/4” I just cut two identical pieces and glue them together.</image:caption>

<image:title>About Me - Hi, I’m Blake</image:title>
<image:caption>I design, build, film, and explore. Most of my projects start the same way — with curiosity. A new idea, a new technique, or a problem I want to solve. Sometimes that turns into a piece of furniture, sometimes a custom tool, and sometimes an entire overland truck system built for adventure. I started woodworking in 2006 in a very unconventional shop: an old horse stable on my grandparents’ property (no joke). At the time I worked at a fantastic used tool store, and many of the tools I restored there eventually made their way into my shop. I devoured every woodworking book and magazine I could find and started building small projects like boxes before slowly working my way toward more complex furniture. Back then I imagined that someday I’d have a huge “dream shop.” In 2013 my wife and I bought our first home with a one-car garage. It wasn’t the massive shop I had imagined — but instead of waiting for the perfect space, I decided to build my dream shop anyway. That small garage eventually became the home of the Weber Woodshop YouTube channel. Working in a limited space forces creativity. Every tool, every workflow, and every square inch has to earn its place. That constraint has shaped the way I design and build projects — focusing on efficiency, thoughtful design, and making the most out of what you have. Over time the projects expanded beyond the walls of the shop. What started as woodworking evolved into designing gear, building systems for adventure, experimenting with new tools and materials, and documenting the entire process through filmmaking and photography. My career as a professional firefighter has taught me to value the time we have and the things we create. Building things with my hands has become both a creative outlet and a way to slow down, focus, and solve problems one step at a time. Today I share these projects through my videos, plans, and resources so others can build their own versions, adapt the ideas, and push them even further. Design it. Craft it. Film it. Explore it. MAKE IT. WORTH IT.</image:caption>

<image:caption>DIESEL HEATER I can’t say enough about how much this has changed camping for me. Waking up to a cold, wet tent is the worst. Diesel heaters produce a very dry heat, which not only keeps you warm but also prevents condensation. Snow camping? Finally yes. The control range is impressive too—crank it up and your tent becomes an oven in a storm, or turn it way down to just take the edge off. The remote lets you adjust the temperature from your sleeping bag. It runs on 12V power and diesel, so I connect it to my Bluetti power bank and bring a small fuel can. And of course—don’t forget a carbon monoxide alarm for safety.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Magnetic Saw Guide Make complex joinery MUCH easier. With a little practice, you can get flawless dovetails with these guides. They clamp to your work piece and your saw sticks to the embedded magnet for perfect cuts. After you cut the tails, the clamp flips around for the pin angle. I use 1:8 angle for dovetails in hardwoods, 1:6 for softwoods and 90 degrees for other cuts.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Japanese Chisels High-quality Japanese chisels... not exactly the same set as mine but very similar. They are laminated with two types of steel. The bottom & edge are much harder to hold sharpness longer. The top is softer to increase durability.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Japanese Pull Saw (Ripping) I love these saws. They cut so incredibly well and I find them much easier to control since they work on the pull-stroke. The blades are interchangeable so when they get dull you just replace them.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Japanese Pull Saw (Joinery) This saw has a rigid spline so it is ideal for joinery when NOT using a dovetail guide. For cutting dovetails with a magnetic saw guide, you'll want the "rip saw" and "crosscut saw" I've listed.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Marking Knive This Japanese marking knife is made with very hard tool steel to keep an edge through hundreds of cuts. It is flat on one side so you can get it right up to your straight edge for intricate joinery.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Sharpening Gauge Because I use a Worksharp 3000 sharpener, I need to set the exact angle before I start. This simple tool tells me the angle of each chisel or plane blade so I can set up the sharpening machine properly.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Incra T-Square A very versatile and accurate square for layout and joinery. It has tiny holes for your mechanical pencil, registered at every 1/64". There are even marks on the edge. The "fence" is even adjustable so you can convert it to sit on its side.</image:caption>

<image:caption>6 Inch Rule My number one favorite measuring tool. Easy to read against its matte finish, and it even has markings along the edge for setting up the height of a router bit. A bit pricey but you won't regret it.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Digital Calipers Essential for accurate measurements of all kinds. Find the thickness of a veneer, the exact depth of a whole, the width of your table saw blade, the length of your tenon, etc.</image:caption>

<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Sanding Pad Probably my number one favorite BUDGET tool. I love how easy it is to change the sandpaper on these soft foam sanding pads. They use the same 5" round sanding disks as my random orbit sander, and just stick on with velcro. I keep 2 of these within arms reach at all times so I can have a couple different grits ready to go.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5e7d76ea16dfff5fe6e9279c/1585606483497-W9UJ1UII1DALF3P6FYRL/51MX1MtG3oL._AC_.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Sanding Pads I would start with the yellow sanding pads first (they are my favorite) but these are handy as well. They also take 5" hook-and-loop sanding disks but are more flexible so they can easily wrap around a table leg or turning. There is a hand strap on the top.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>

<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Handscrew Clamp Don't think of these as a clamp, think of them as a JIG. I mostly use these for things like holding awkward pieces securely one the drill press, or securing a workpiece to my tablesaw miter gauge before each cut. 6" and 12" are both handy sizes.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5e7d76ea16dfff5fe6e9279c/1585606484708-W7IISGWRTH1LQQ1QP3PX/6193vM5jDnL._AC_SL1500_.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Deadblow Mallet Must-have item for woodworking. They are filled with lead shot and when you strike your workpiece the energy is transferred in a way that is more efficient and safer... It doesn't just "bounce off", It hits with a "thud" instead of a "bang" and is less likely to damage the wood.</image:caption>

<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Tool Bag For those times when you need to do a little work away from your shop and want to bring a few small tools with you. This bag is durable and actually holds quite a lot, with nice dividers inside+out for screws, bits, etc.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>F-Clamps You see me use these on almost every project. I think they're the perfect clamp. You can really torque these down with a lot of pressure. I have the older style, but I wish mine had these nice rubberized handles and soft-jaw inserts. You'll want to keep adding more of these to your collection, the perfect number is "one more than you currently own".</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Bar Clamp AKA Cabinet Clamp or Parallel Clamp. These are really the perfect clamp for cabinetry and case work. The large pads are non-marring and keep your workpiece nice and straight.</image:caption>

<image:title>My Tools - Hand Tools</image:title>
<image:caption>Spring Clamp Handy for small glue-ups. These are professional grade though, and have quite a bit more pressure than similar "cheap" spring clamps.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Flooring Tiles The number one thing I get asked about is my garage flooring. These hard plastic tiles snap together to create a floor is that is easy to clean, easy on the back and knees, really tough, and looks great. They help to smooth out uneven spots and liquids can pass under them.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Parts Bin A very popular item. I got mine used but these are almost the same as the metal parts bins in my shop that I call "the hardware store". I keep screws, nuts, bolts and various other hardware organized in these bins so I can spend less time running to the actual store.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Instant C.A. Glue Starbond is basically super glue plus an accelerator that cures it instantly. Extremely useful stuff, and I always make sure to have several varieties on hand. It comes in thin, medium and thick, as well as clear, brown and black. Great for times when you need an instant bond, jig making, and even filling voids.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Double-Stick Tape MUST HAVE. Sold as "carpet tape", this is the tape I use for all of my router templates. It has just the right amount of holding but you can still get things apart when you need to. It doesn't leave a residue, but if a bit of tape stays on the surface, use the other wad of tape to pull it off. Here's a tip: use an exact knife to cut it and then after you stick it down, use the tip of the knife to peel the corner up on the paper backing.</image:caption>
